Description: At startup, LibreOffice hangs if default remote printer is off. LO main screen is blocked for more than 5 minutes. If the network printer is on, then no problem. If Options/Printing = File Print, then no probem, whatever the printer status. Issue seen on windows 11, LO 7.2.7 and 7.3.4 Steps to Reproduce: 1. Setup a REMOTE (WiFi) Linux (Ubuntu) USB printer as the default windows printer, and LO without "startup with windows session" 2. Linux printer host in standby mode 3. Start LO on a windows host ==> Hangs for a typical network timeout 4. Restart LO in "safe mode" : No problem 5. Restart LO with Linux host and printer reachable: no problem 6. Restart LO with Options/Printing = File Print : no problem This problem is reprocuded with Libre Office (selector), write and calc. Actual Results: LO "boots" rapidly Then UI hangs: Main menu does not display for 5 minutes or more. Expected Results: LO should not hang, and probably gracefully warn that printer is unreachable. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: NB: modern DELL PC with 16GB RAM, SSD. Not a performance issue. And when the printer is ON, everything is correct. user Profile reset does NOT solve the issue. Looking a the initial pooling of the printer status should show a potential network timeout.
This issue is sever for the rare people that suffer from it: LO is not usable at all!
