Description: I cannot seem to be able to default the lines around the cell to the thickness wanted, they are always too thick when I use the buttons on the menubar. I always have to select the cells and then put in the right thickness borders. Have tried working with the styles and they seem correct. Should the border buttons on the menu bar not also match what the style of the sheet is or at least be customizable so you always get the border thickness you want? It seems the default is locked in and cannot be changed Steps to Reproduce: 1.Select cells 2.Press the border dropdown on tool bar 3.choose the lines you want Actual Results: the lines are there but always thicker than needed and have to manually change them Expected Results: expect the lines to be the thickness that were defaulted to Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: I have a screen shot but do not know where to send it here
Created attachment 181285 [details] shows the line thickness defaulted by the toolbar picture shows shows the line thickness defaulted by the toolbar which is different than the sheet style, it always defaults to the same
The default border width is "Thin (0.75 pt)". I could not find a way to change this default value. Maybe this option could be remembered across multiple uses. For example, if the user applies a border with 0.5 pt, the next time the dropdown is opened the option 0.5 pt should be selected by default because it was the last used option. Also, clicking any of the border options should remember the last selected border width value. Let's hear from the UX team.
Looks it is hard coded, but IMO should be fine it is was taken from default style in the spreadsheet. In any case it is a request for enhancement, not a bug.
The mentioned control is not for the line thickness but the border configuration. Changing the default line thickness makes no sense to me. It has been chosen carefully and works well for most users. Very Thin, for example, would be too thin for many other users. => WF If you want a different style why not using a dedicated cell style? https://help.libreoffice.org/7.3/en-US/text/scalc/01/05100000.html
