Steps to reproduce the problem: 1) Open e.g. svx/qa/unit/data/theme.pptx 2) Go to the master page of the first slide 3) Go to Slide -> Slide properties menu item, then the Theme tab 4) Notice that there is a reasonably set of 12 colors set there 5) Now repeat the same for a new Impress document Expected result: A similarly sane set of default colors are set. Actual result: Everything is set to automatic, one has to came up with good-looking colors for new documents. I've asked Heiko to provide some good-looking RGB values. Column B of the attached Themed_Colors.ods has such colors. The task is to improve the UI that creates new Impress documents to use those colors by default. The behavior for existing documents should be unchanged.
Adding CC to people. I'm filing this as a bug as I don't have time to do this myself right now and it's possible Tomaz would have a student to work on this.

Bug 151507 suggests to change the palette so these themed colors would be the basis.
As a start, Tomaz added the provided colors to code, in svx/source/styles/ColorSets.cxx:175. What still needs doing is to use one of the color sets for new documents by default. And perhaps move the color values from code to config.
