Description:
It would be nice to have a way to have both character styles and paragraph styles sidebar open at the same time. It would make it much easier to format complex documents. It is inefficient having to often click on the little icon above the sidebar.

It seems to me a good idea.

- Maybe the Paragraph, Character, Frame, Page, etc. Styles buttons could toggle the visibility of each styles group.
- Another option, is to set them similar to the Properties sidebar, with Style, Character, Paragraph one under another.

I see no toolbar button to Set Character Style (like the Set Paragraph Style in the Formatting toolbar).

Something that might work if only a few core styles are needed most of the time is to disable the main formatting toolbar and enable and customize the styles formatting toolbar.

As the previous comment stated, it would be nice if there was a character style drop-down box that could be added to the toolbar.

Rferraro, thank your for this idea. I think we can treat it a sduplicate of bug 143987. If you don't agree, feel free to change it back to UNCONFIRMED with a short reasoning.
