Description: This specifically concerns student papers that I'm downloading from the Canvas LMS. Sometimes, though not always, when I open their DOCX files in LibreOffice Writer, the footnotes are all out of order. Footnote 16 will appear as footnote 5, and footnote 5 as 10, or who knows what. There does not seem to be any obvious pattern to it. I can tell they are out of order because Canvas itself displays the file, with the footnotes in the right places. I'm choosing the version I'm currently using for the report, but I've been seeing this for a long time and an only just reporting it. Steps to Reproduce: Open DOCX file with footnotes. Actual Results: Footnotes are out of order. Expected Results: Footnotes are in the right order. Reproducible: Sometimes User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 7.3.7.2 Build ID: 30(Build:2) CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.0; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb) Locale: en-US (en_US.utf8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
Hi Richard I believe this was fixed just recently in Bug 152203. I mark this one as a duplicate, but please do test with one of your documents to confirm that it is indeed fixed. You can try a master build from here: https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html ... or wait for version 7.4.4 to be released in mid-January. Thank you! *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 152203 ***
