Description: SciTE4AutoHotKey has this feature. I thought it would be nice to have addition to the timed saves. It would be real nice if you had saves occur when there is a pause in typing/mouse movement/menu selection. Actual Results: automatic saves Expected Results: no loss of data Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: well it doesn't have to do anything
Do you known the option for Menu/Tools/Options/Load/Save/General - Save AutoRecovery information every ... https://help.libreoffice.org/7.6/en-US/text/shared/optionen/01010200.html?&DbPAR=WRITER&System=WIN
Yes, I am familiar with these options. Thank you for looking at my suggestion. Its a small convenience for a peace of mind. I am sure you have real bugs to address.
Addendum: There is an unrelated issue. I always save my documents though I use a auto shutdown. I often see that the Document Recovery is "executed" though no such measure is required.
Maybe because LibreOffice it's not closed properly with files opened, and perhaps some change force recovery.
Yes, I do save any changes to a file, but the LibreCalc is open. I do a taskkill to close the application because I a proper way to auto close the application. The recover file option doesn't always pop up. It seems to occur when the file is changed and saved, not always but sometimes. Thanks for the idea.
Let's ask the UX team, if they think adding this would have value. However, version 24.2 had big improvements to autorecovery/-saving: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/24.2#Core_/_General "Fixed many AutoRecovery limitations and re-enabled AutoSave UI. Added "Place backup in same folder as document" option. tdf#65509 tdf#68565 tdf#57414 (Mike Kaganski / Justin Luth, Collabora)"
What is the actual issue that makes you suggest a solution (to save when the application looses the focus, ie. the user clicks on the desktop or switches to another application)?
Resolving the ticket for now. Feel free to reopen.
