Description: When there is an email address, and you select it from the top bar, it selects more than the text that it was supposed to, counting on the number of characters of the email adresse. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Write "blablabla@gmail.com is my email adresse" and presse enter 2.Select the whole address from the top bar (it will select a number of characters of the mail address (here 19) minus 1 (so 18) + the adress) 3.Copy, and paste in another cell Actual Results: 'blablabla@gmail.com is my email adres' Expected Results: 'blablabla@gmail.com' Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: I suspect that when an email adress is detected, and put in blue, for selections it only counts as one character when you select it from the top bar.
Created attachment 186247 [details] Example The text selected in the top bar, does not correspond with the selected text of the sheet.
Hi sir,the following versions do not have this problem. Version: 7.3.7.2 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 30(Build:2) CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Ubuntu package version: 1:7.3.7-0ubuntu0.22.04.2 Calc: threaded
(In reply to M. Mahadevan from comment #2) > Hi sir,the following versions do not have this problem. Please do not change the status to resolved worksforme, if you have not reproduced the bug with an older version: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Bugzilla/Fields/Status/RESOLVED#WORKSFORME
No repro with Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 8e97ef854fb225dac37185c1911894b7d206fa8d CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.19; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: cs-CZ (cs_CZ.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Please test with newer version, LO 7.1 is quite old. You can download actual version at https://www.libreoffice.org/
> Actual Results: > 'blablabla@gmail.com is my email adres' This would happen when pasting on a cell located in the same column, below the cell where the original text was copied from. Pasting on a cell that is located on a different column would result in the text that was originally copied (only). In other words, the behavior is not a result from pasting alone, but from pasting on a cell in the same column while "autoinput" is activated. To test this, start your test again (with an empty worksheet); go to menu Tools > AutoInput and disable it. Then use your step 1 to step 3 in comment 0. Another test would be to repeat your steps but pasting on a different column. Please be aware that the behavior related to "autoInput" has changed since LO 7.1 to the current 7.4 - 7.6.alpha, so the exact behavior might be slightly different, depending on the version. Please confirm my suspicion, so we can check whether there is really a problem (or not).
