Description: Please add "fields" to dialog box when right clicking on footer/header so as to easily add fields for page number, author, etc. Otherwise, to insert fields into footer, user has to click from menu > Insert > Fields > Page Number. The current method of adding page numbers to Footer via above method is obscure non-intuitive. This results in large amount of time wasted finding out how to do this proceedure which is simple and straightfoward in other office softwares. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open new document 2. Insert footer via menu > Insert > Header and Footer > Footer > Default page style 3. Mouse cusor on footer, right click and find no dialog for inserting fields into footer Actual Results: No "fields" in dialog box on right click over footer Expected Results: Expect that a right click on footer would bring up dialog box for inserting various footer components such as page number, date, author in a simple, quick and straightforward operation. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Please see screenshots for: Right click over footer: https://paste.pics/f028aaee3999d13e4b8ad8a043b61e46 Existing method for inserting fields into footer: https://paste.pics/101229ccc83cf1c3956bcf58241323ec Example of where to add "Fields" into footer dialog box: https://paste.pics/1f1ee38005a4a2d37219c66796ca11c5 Thankyou for making LibreOffice better!
I was surprised, that I couldn't customise context menu (Tools -> Customise -> Context Menu -> Target "Text"). I couldn't find "Insert Field" in command list and "Add Field" didn't work.
If you click at the header/footer area a light blue context menu is shown. This menu contains the commands Insert Page Number and Insert Page Count. Is this enough? I guess that the context of footer/header is not different from the ordinary text area and adding a Fields... command would therefore appear in both situations. Consider also that adding fields is assigned to the F2 shortcut (not working on Linux/KDE as it is occupied by the desktop). (In reply to Dieter from comment #1) > I was surprised, that I couldn't customise context menu... Using "More Fields..." does the trick :-)
