Description: The modern way of handling data is to autosave edits as one goes along. We have a very good recovery mechanism for files not saved on exit, but I feel it is time to catch up with the way modern software works, and to autosave during use instead. This should, of course, be a user-selected choice Steps to Reproduce: n/a Actual Results: n/a Expected Results: n/a Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: n/a
It's basically there: Tools -> Options -> Load/Save -> General, Save AutoRecovery information every ... minutes. Auto-saving the target file directly while typing IMHO is not such a good approach, or if then only fine grained by device or path, because transferring full documents to the destination can be very costly; i.e. WebDAV or any remote http/ftp or other network file systems.
