Description: This - formally - is not an error, but a recommendation to increase user comfort. I very often paint diagrams, which are depending from certain cell contents. The title, sub-title and of other text fields can only be inputted or changed manually. So whenever I change the cell's content, that changes the data for the diagram, I have to change the title, sub-title or other text fields in the diagram manually. Why isn't it possible to derive the title's text from a cell, that provides the text for the title, e.g. to input "=$C$3" into the title and the title's content then follows the text in cell C3. That would increase the usability by far. And why can't the width of title- and sub-title-text fields not really be changed by the user? brgs, gsc Steps to Reproduce: 1.Input a factor into cell A1, e.g. 2. 2.In cells A2 to A7, input the formula's "=2*$A$1" to "=7*$A$1". 3.Now select cells A2 to A7 and insert a diagramm. 4.Give the diagram the title "Lines multiplied by 2". 5.If you change the cell A1's content, the data in the displayed diagram changes, but not the title. 6. It is impossible to automatically change the "2" in the title by the content of cell A1. Actual Results: If I input a formula into the title, it displays the formula as text. Expected Results: Formulas should be respected in the title and the title should accept "=$A$1" as input. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: None.
+1 This has been asked about in AskLibO before: https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/how-to-use-cell-content-as-a-chart-title-or-subtitle/9508 https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/how-to-have-in-graphs-title-subtitle-x-axis-and-y-axis-referred-to-cells/32200
Sure, this would be very beneficial and has been requested a couple of times before => DUP. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 103863 ***
It is not correct to mark this as a duplicate. The orginal of this bug report, that you made my report a duplicate of, is from the year 2016. The bug is still unresolved, so see my report as a REMINDER.
Besides organizing the reports, duplicates (and people on CC) draw attention to the issue. It's a pity that we have so many unresolved ideas but volunteers to implement are rare. => DUP
