Description miltonh26 2023-07-20 02:04:28 UTC
Breaking a link in Calc does not work.

Behavior
1. Open a Calc file with a linked file
2. Allow updating the file when the security warning appears
3. Menu > Edit > Links to External Files...
4. Click "Break Link"
5. Close the dialog box
6. Save and close the file
7. Reopen the file
8. Notice the external link is still linked

Expected Behavior
That when the external file link is broken, that the file link be broken and written to file when the file is saved.

The user must use Excel to remove linked files. Not ideal.

Literally, this bug has been around for years.

It would be great if you could share an example file.
Does it make a difference if the linked file is in view in Calc before attempting to delete it?
In any case, I am pretty sure this is the same issue as reported in bug 140829.
