Description AvidSeeker 2023-08-09 07:46:02 UTC
Description:
LO Calc supports many table and spreadsheet formats. It would be nice if markup tables like Markdown and MediaWiki formats are supported too. It makes it easier to contribute to Wikis by editing existing sheets.

As a current workaround, ODS can be saved as CSV then converted by a 3rd party tool to MediaWiki or markdown.

We've got bug 94978 for Markdown.
Should we focus this on just Mediawiki, AvidSeeker?

Yes, thank you.

Ilmari, I thought you'd be interested in the Mediawiki topic.
I think it's a good idea, especially since we have something for Writer tables.

The Wiki Publisher extension is bundled with LibreOffice. If you want to work on it, look into the directory swext in the source code. I don't know, if this new thing would then be an additional Calc-centric extension or what.

As this is about adding something, let's involve UX team.

I'm having a hard time to imagine Calc as source for a Wiki. No question in case of Writer, and tables are properly exported there, but why do you need many columns/rows, conditional formatting, formulas, etc.? Just copy/paste the values...

OTOH, no objection if the extension works for Calc too.
