Description peter josvai 2023-09-01 17:12:34 UTC
hi,

just another approach...
in fact, two ... (#3 and #4) to a possible session functionality (reopening documents that belong to a working session)

#3 - - - - - - -
The "recent documents" list could have checkboxes on the left...
and below the list a menu item:

"reopen selected"

I believe that this could be the most minimalistic solution...
still pretty comfortable!

#4 - - - - - - -
I notices that while opening a file from Writer (in Lunux mint)
a right click option is available over files:
"copy location" (of file)

Copying it makes it possible to
create a new document and go "Insert / hyperlink" (CRTL+k),
where we can paste the copied path...

so a list of files can be built manually...
AND to this some little help could be given...

for example:
"send windows list" (list of open documents) to clipboard...

or

below the "recent files" list "copy all paths"

or something...

just to illustrate that we're really not that far from having this functionality...

- - - thank you for developing Writer! - - - -

Thank you for the report, Peter.
The discussion is already happening in bug 146769, please have a look at what has been said and add your ideas there.
I am marking this one as a duplicate, hope that makes sense!
