Description: when using the borders/borders-style tool, it is not possible to change the inner border in the table Steps to Reproduce: 1. menu → border-style → solid ( we chose border ) 2. sheet → click in a cell ( С3 ) 3. menu → borders → outer-border-only ( С3 now has border, from all sides ) 4. sheet → click in a cell ( С4 ) 5. menu → borders → outer-border-only ( С3,C4 now has border, from all sides ) 6. ( between С3 and C4 → border ) 7a. can't make border between cells different from "outer-border-only" ( if I select this item in the menu → menu → border-style → dotted ) using standard items from menu.. 7b. if you first select the border, then the fill goes from all sides.. 7c. many different bad choices.. you can draw C4 → border-style → dotted (from all sides). choose B4/D4/C5 → mare border on one side only (outer-border-only) , but this only works in this example, and not in a really large table.. Actual Results: too many actions, and does not work with large tables where many cells are close (if some of the cells are merged - even worse) Expected Results: I apologize for comparing your product with others (but it will be more clear), there is such a tool as a pencil/pen, which draws a border near the cell. do not trace the cell around the perimeter cell! but by pointing with a pencil/pen - indicate and draw (between which cells), where to put the border (pre-selected in the menu). if there is such a tool, but I did not find it, please indicate how to find/use it Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 7.5.3.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 9f56dff12ba03b9acd7730a5a481eea045e468f3 CPU threads: 16; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: ru-RU (ru_RU); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded
The description in comment 0 is not easy to understand. I guess that when you refer to "menu →" you mean the Formatting toolbar (not a menu). There are several ways to modify cell's borders. For example (among others), select the cell, menu Format > Cells (or [CTRL]+[1]), click on the Borders tab and modify the settings as you need. Having said that, this is not a support forum, and comment 0 seems more a question rather than a bug report or enhancement request. Please next time go first to https://ask.libreoffice.org and make sure there is really a bug to report. Or read the Help content, or the Manual, or send an email to the users mailing list and wait for feedback, or... For now, I am closing this report. If there is really a bug to report, please feel free to reopen and provide clear steps, actual results and expected results.
