hi, the new page number indication is politically more correct as it won't just say "page 3 of 12" when the "user" actually sees page 3 and a portion of another page... nice! But we should also like to know how many pages we have without the endnotes... cause "page 3 and 4 of 20" actually translates to page 3 and 4 of 20 minus the endnotes... and once the "user" passed one page of endnotes, she or he will not just subtract one page of the number of pages but also keep an eye on how many pages of endnotes s/he already has... so, for the sake of easiness, it could be a positive turn if the indication could be customized... "page number indication without endnotes []" [B] another such customization option could be: "page number indication: display only the obvious (most visible) page" Customization is a great thing that works against mass culture... In some cultures individuals have to blend in, take what's good or acceptable for the masses, in some others, individuals are encouraged to feel free to apply changes to the system... Libreoffice is, well, obviously the latter category... - - - thank you for developing libreoffice - - -
A more flexible solution is outlined in bug 153259, so any style can be exluded. Let's mark as a duplicate. Regarding: (In reply to peter josvai from comment #0) > "page number indication: display only the obvious (most visible) page" ...please open a separate enhancement request.
