Description DErik 2023-09-07 16:58:21 UTC
Description:
When in Calc, the cell that the cursor is currently positioned over has its contents displayed in the formula field above the spreadsheet, and the cell identifier field has the coordinates of the cell. When a Writer window is clicked on, for whatever reason, the fields mentioned here are blanked out. Why? The fields retain their values when any other window on the display device (a browser for example) is clicked.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click a cell in the Calc spreadsheet.
2.The contents of the cell are displayed in the formula field and the cell coordinates are displayed in the field to the left of the formula field.
3.Click on some other LibreOffice window.
4.The contents of the formula field and its coordinates are wiped out.

Actual Results:
See "Steps to Reproduce"

Expected Results:
The contents of the formula field and the coordinates of the cell should still be displayed.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
The contents of the formula field and the coordinates of the cell should still be displayed.

I see the affect, but I do not see an issue.

Simply put the program edit cursor (what has os/DE keyboard input focus) shifts to the active component, and the sc Formula bar loses focus and stops displaing its input content. It regains it when os/DE edit cursor focus is shifted back to calc.

How is this incorrect, only one component has os/DE edit cursor focus at a time--it would actually be incorrect if on shifting focus away from calc the Formula bar remained active.

At least a reasonable use case... let's make it a duplicate.
