Description: Instead of being able to globally set the format of the cells to wrap the contents I have to do it on most of the cells individually. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open calc spreadsheet 2.Type contents in cell - enough to need to wrap 3.Select sheet or column or cells ->Format->Cells -> Wrap option (it will wrap that selection 4.Move down to type in more cells - usually wrap setting not retained Actual Results: The wrap setting doesn't keep Expected Results: If I set it for a column or a sheet you should only need to do it once Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: No other information
You can edit 'Default style', to have it as default, it is the root of all other styles and direct format.
Ok but should I have to do that?

The (long) text introduced in empty cells on the same column that has the "Wrap Text" property is correctly wrapped (i.e. the width of the column is kept while its height gets adapted according to the newly-introduced (long) text). However, there is an issue with selecting a range of cells (or all of them) when (only) part of them is already with the Wrap Text property set ON (but not all the selected range has it): 1. On a new clean spreadsheet, apply "Wrap Text" on only part of the cells (e.g. one cell, or one column only). > relevant icon shows status ON. 1.1. Optional (but convenient): add long text to a cell with "Wrap Text"; and also to a cell that does not have such property. 2. Select (or focus on) a cell that does _not_ have the "Wrap Text" property > relevant icon shows status OFF. 3. Select _all_ cells > icon shows status ON. 4. Press "Wrap Text" icon once > all cells without "Wrap text". 5. Immediately repeat step 4 once (with _all_ cells still selected) > cells go back to the same status as before step 4. The result might be (and is) convenient, but in some cases the user actually wants to change the whole range of selected cells (that previously had a mix status for "Wrap Text"). Workaround: With the relevant cells selected > [CTRL]+[1] > Alignment > click on "Wrap text automatically" once will make the (mix) status change to OFF > click once more to set it to ON for all the selected range of cells > click once more to return to the "mix" status. IMHO, if this is what is actually happening to the reporter, I would not modify the behavior unless a clear improvement can be achieved – one that can be clearly explained, documented and be intuitive for users.
Ill give the workaround a go but you should know that the bug is appearing on the latest stable version as well. I will report back.

There appears to be an improvement by operating it in Safe Mode. What does this mean?
Correction to previous comment - opening the documents in Safe Mode makes no difference
I am able to reproduce on Windows, but ONLY when whole sheet is selected. For me, the issue is NOT reproducible if only columns or rows are selected. (Checked this in safe mode as well) Steps: 1. Open new calc spreadsheet 2. Type contents in A1 so that it would need to wrap 3. Select WHOLE sheet 4. Format > Cells > Alignment > check "Wrap text automatically", then click OK 5. Type contents in another cell so that it would need to wrap 6. Check Format > Cells > Alignment again to see that "Wrap text automatically" is not checked for cells other than A1 (not expected) Screencast: https://somup.com/c06jV9Bu2p ---------------------- Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: dd7fc07f83416a3d8a444947b7d28f7347520d6a CPU threads: 6; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22621; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded
