Description: MSO allows you to copy selected styles via the keyboard shortcut "ctrl + shift + c" and accept them via "ctrl + shift + v". This functionality is already available in the toolbar and the context menu. Maybe, for better user experience, it is worth adding similar behavior using a key combination. Actual Results: Expected Results: Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info:
[Ctrl+Shift+V] show the paste special options with a button to paste only format.
Created attachment 190172 [details] Test with keyboard shortcut ctrl + shift + v (In reply to m.a.riosv from comment #1) > [Ctrl+Shift+V] show the paste special options with a button to paste only > format. We tried, the text with the style is copied, but this no way to paste only style using the keyboard shortcut ctrl + shift + v
Seems you are copying between applications, not between two files into the same app. I think, it is a different matter, not the same options available.

Copying took place within one file. On the first line with stylized text, using the combination Ctrl+Shift+C or Ctrl + C. On the second line with unstylized text, using the combination Ctrl + Shift + v.
(In reply to m.a.riosv from comment #1) > [Ctrl+Shift+V] show the paste special options with a button to paste only > format. We can’t find a function to paste formatting without text by pressing ctrl+shift+v. Looking through other resources, we cannot find any information about pasting formatting only. In the code we were able to find a mention of "only formats" in Calc. It looks like this feature is not implemented for Writer. @m.a.riosv can you tell us the steps you followed to paste formatting only?
[Ctrl+Shift+V] works with Calc, not exist for Writer. Help about clone format (Icon): https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/shared/guide/paintbrush.html?DbPAR=SHARED#bm_id380260 It's possible to customize keys combinations. Menu/Tools/Customize [Keyboard] Search for 'Clone' Select the combination. Go to the source paragraph. Use keyboard combination. Click on destination paragraph. Paragraph style is applied. I don't know if it is enough.

It looks like this method still requires using the mouse when typing. The area to which you want to apply formatting must be selected with the mouse. It also looks like this method requires you to select the text with the desired formatting each time before applying it to other text. It seems more convenient to add an option, for example, “Paste formatting only” in the menu that appears when pressed ctrl+shift+v. This will allow users to repeatedly apply the copied style to text without using the mouse.
UX-team, can anyone evaluate this feature?
This has been discussed in bug 156404 and, sorry, rejected. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 156404 ***
