Paragraph numbering would be a very pleasant enhancement. It would allow for a comfort of not having to choose a workaround.
I think it is exactly as important as line numbering, if not more.

The old chapter numbering that evolved into "heading numbering" is not it.

Using list function is almost there... but it excludes using other lists in the text. Also, it should be as simple as line numbering, so, it should evolve from that.
