Description ktopyes 2023-12-24 06:36:10 UTC
Description:
Random crashes when I switch apps to LibreOffice on Windows.
The crash upload that I seen on other versions is completely missing.
There is just the document recovery dialogue when I re-open LibreOffice.
7.5.9.2 is supposed to be stable.
How do you fix crashes without crash reports.

Steps to Reproduce:
Program randomly crashes when I switch to it from other apps on Windows

Actual Results:
No crash report upload dialogue. There is only document recovery dialogue.

Expected Results:
Crash Report Upload facility to ask for crash report upload when program restart after a crash

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
On other versions, I have seen Crash Report Upload facility to ask for crash report upload when I restart LibreOffice after a crash.
I mean does it auto upload crash report without asking ? or
How do you fix crashes without crash reports?

What is checkbox setting in Tools -> Options -> General for the 'Send crash reports to the Document Foundation'

Also, what was the source of your install, TDF built download or a Windows Store app. Or other build?

According the https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/finding-the-crash-report/71227 the crash reports should be in C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\crash
Comment 4 ktopyes 2023-12-31 00:28:32 UTC
I have checked folder
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\crash

No crash report in directory.
The only file there is a configuration file dump.cfg

Sometimes (at least on Linux), depending on the type of crash, the LO crash reporter does not catch it.

Can you please:
- test version 7.6 (because 7.5 won't see further updates)
- if still present, provide more information about the crash (how frequent, precise steps that consistently reproduce the crash - if any)
- share the full information copied from Help > About LibreOffice (there's a button to copy it)

Thank you!
