(In reply to daniels.lewis652 from comment #0) > Have updated LO and run MBP in Safe Mode. Which version have you updated to? Can you please test the latest 24.2? Once updated, please test again and paste here the version information copied from LibreOffice > About. Please also check that your macOS is up to date.
(In reply to Stéphane Guillou (stragu) from comment #1) > Which version have you updated to? As you linked to e19e193f88cd6c0525a17fb7a176ed8e6a3e2aa1, I assume that was 7.6.4.

Please go to https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download-libreoffice/ and download the newest version. the newest version is 24.8. (the released versions were 7.4, 7.5, 7.6, 24.2, 24.8)

It will take me about a month to determine if the problem still exists.
Bring back the earliest affected version. If it is a regression, we might need this information for easier in-depth-analysis ("bibisecting"). Please do not change this field except knowing the earliest affected version (or at least recognized version). ;-)
2024-10-15 I do not know the earliest version affected but it seemed to be after updating my MacBook Pro to OS Sonoma. The problem continues in LO Version 24.8.2.1. Important comment: The problem only occurs in one large workbook with many linked worksheets. Is there a way I can check for any file corruption in this workbook. Other than the problem cited, the workbook functions perfectly.
(In reply to daniels.lewis652 from comment #9) > The problem only occurs in one large workbook with many linked worksheets. Two questions: 1.) Is it possible for you to share these files? 2.) Which file format / file extension does the files have? ods? xslx?
Responses: 1. The file contains confidential information and cannot be shared. 2. The file extension is xlsx. This is the extension I use for all my calc files, but only this large file has the issue.
(In reply to daniels.lewis652 from comment #11) > 2. The file extension is xlsx. This is the extension I use for all my calc > files, but only this large file has the issue. Any specific reason to use the Microsoft format? Is it possible for you, to save the files to ods and trying to reproduce the problem? As nobody can reproduce the problem until now, this is a bit of searching of the needle in the haystack...
@Lewis : You mention in comment 9 that you noticed the problem after updating to Sonoma. I have encountered this problem too, but for me, it wasn't just in LibreOffice. The misbehaviour extended to more than just LibreOffice, for example, Firefox, and Chrome, MySQLWorkbench, Thunderbird, etc. As I rarely use any of the Apple standard GUI applications provided with the OS (other than Finder and Desktop), I can't say whether my problem extends also to those applications. From the numerous reports out there on the internet, it would seem that people frequently have issues with the functionality of their mouse in macOS. Could this be such a case with your setup, or are all other apps behaving normally with regard to their mouse interaction ?
@Lewis: as an example of existing reports against macOS, see for example: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255121255?sortBy=rank
Alex, I had checked that thread some time ago but my issue was only with LibreOffice Calc. Thanks, Lewis

Dennis, I will try the ods file version and see if that solves it. Thank you, Lewis Daniels

No, other apps are working fine; problem only in LibreOffice Calc. Please see my reply to Dennis today. Lewis

Thank you very much for this suggestion. FYI, I found an app that can open and edit .ods files on Apple iOS devices - it is "Collabora Office." Lewis
Trying to summarize the bug report so far from the latest information provided by the OP: When editing an Excel file in Calc, tap to click via MacBook trackpad intermittently becomes unresponsive. I'll change the title to reflect that.
