Sample

Edit of centered cell content larger than a cell shows it covering the left cell (in sample: large A) instead being centered left-right (in sample: around B).

Seen from OO to 25.2+. MSO has expected behavior.

But it is centered left and right, from A to C. Being larger A, it is centered on the whole space between A and C.

Therefore, if there is a wide column width cell on the right, you may not be able to see the editing state in the cell.

Insert Long Text into [B2} cell.
This happens when the Column [A] is visible.

Developers will say it's not a bug, but I'd like to see it if possible.

IMO this is a bug. The contents should be centered on its own cell (which is what MSO and Google Sheets do).
