Description:
Hi folks and dear developers

1. Thanx for making L-Office
============================

The main programm "soffice.exe" lists latest used documents.

It could be extended for example with a multi window ( tab organised ),
where in
 -> diffenrent sets of files could be collected or selected.

This might be usefull ESPECIALLY ( i can imagine ) in businesses
where the people
are working on different projects AND SO therefore on different sets Files.

As well in this " dashboard " it could be implemented a " add also *pdf files "
so these could be opened with the installed pdf application

=============

I remember my working in a small research institute,
we worked on different projects using calc for tchnical examining
impress for documentation as well writer for customer communication
as well pdf for background information.

========================================

These files where organised in " project directories "

So an enhancement could be " create a new tab " ( like firefox or else )
within : " open directory and list these therein files ".
->
give the tab an appropriate name ( last word of directory name ?)

-> safe this config for next use ( until tab removed )

==========

It is a question, if commercial ( companies ) user of LO find this helpful ??!!

BEST REGARDS

Hi,
OK !

Do you think, "my idea " will be reed ?
Or should i copy and paste my thinking to bug 37134 ?

regards

Comment 4 Buovjaga 2024-07-12 14:22:06 UTC
It seemed to me that bug 37134 would be roughly the same idea as you were thinking. Of course details will crystallise when someone starts working on it.

Hi, Buovjaga !

It might be easy ( for an experianced programmer )
to have a
TABBED window and list some files of a specialized directory ( of files ).

FOR SURE  ::::: I couldnt do it !!!!!!!!!!! I promise !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

================================================================================

I stepped into " the """duplicate bug """ " you // added my posting to //

-> that started at -> year 2012 -<

================================================================================

... might be it is a BIT easier NOW

SO !!
=====

IF YOU CAN ?!?!?!?!?!

=====================

Would you like to loose my posting from " 2012 years - Thinking " ?

To have it after 12 years to be STAND ALONE

===================================================================

regards anyway

Thank you for the suggestion.
I think a better match is bug 117237, which is about organising several documents into "projects" or "sessions.
The idea of tabs in bug 37134 is linked, but I think the main request here is organising files into projects, and the UI is only secondary (i.e. it could be implemented differently).
I am marking as duplicate of bug 117237, bu please feel free to comment on either or both if you think the conversation doesn't cover your use case already.
(It is important to consolidate enhancement request by marking as duplicate, as it makes sure everyone affected can participate in the discussion, and gives an idea of how much the idea needs to be prioritised.)
