needs bisecting I think
Comment 3 m_a_riosv 2024-07-14 21:50:57 UTC
PowerPoint message: 'Can't open the file'
Microsoft® PowerPoint® para Microsoft 365 MSO (versión 2406 compilación 16.0.17726.20078) de 64 bits

Maybe something is wrong in the file.

Opening it with Google Presentations, and resaving as pptx, open fine with PowerPoint and Impress.
Comment 4 Caolán McNamara 2024-07-18 10:16:13 UTC
yeah, this is not a well formed document. Refusing to open it would likely be perfectly acceptable too. But we shouldn't hang, especially if we didn't in the past, so I think there might be a bisectable change to when it started to hang.

This seems to have begun at the below commit in bibisect repository/OS linux-64-24.8.
