Description terranifabien 2024-07-14 19:06:08 UTC
# Steps to reproduce:

1. Start LibreOffice Writer. After the loading splashscreen, a blank document appears.
2. Type 6 (or more) spaces (' ') in the new document.
3. After typing your spaces, type a question mark ('?').

# Expected behavior:

The document remains open with the typed characters and the user can keep editing it.

# Actual behavior:

The software crashes. When started again, the document is recovered etc.

# Other remarks:

Two things. First, after trying a little bit, the bug doesn't occur if you type less than 6 spaces before the question mark. Secondly, I think this can possibly be influenced by the current language used when editing the document (in my case swiss french) since those multiple spaces seem to be combined into one non-breakable space which isn't the case in all languages. I also noticed that the bug also occurs if there is some text before the typed spaces.
