Description Paul 2024-07-16 17:31:25 UTC
Description:
I found it impossible to find section boundaries in a Writer document, so I went and changed their color to red at Options / Application Colors.

That helped me be able to find them, but it also placed red borders around any Table of Contents and between their Table Heading and their entries.

I would prefer a better way to identify section boundaries, perhaps a non-printing character like the paragraph markers. Ideal would be for them to be findable in Navigator. And I would like to see section boundaries divorced from the ToC.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.enable section boundaries color
2.create ToC
3.

Actual Results:
ToC has borders with section boundaries color

Expected Results:
ToC should be unaffected by section boundaries

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Section boundaries are hard to find, which is why I changed their color in the first place.

ToC is implemented using section frames. This is an implementation detail. These frames should be unaffected by the color setting, and be handled specially, just like we handle e.g. some bookmarks used internally.

With:

I set the Section Boundaries color to Red, then inserted a section that shows red borders (as expected). ToC also shows red border.
Print Preview don't show the red border (as expected), but when I return to normal view there is no red borders at all but a grey border.

The above behavior is not reproducible with:
