Twice now in the same document a simple footer eg Page m of n - simply disappears and I have to create it again. Apple Silicon.

That probably happened after a paste action?
This issue should be resolved in the upcoming version 24.2.6, please see bug 160139.

I have been pasting so it is entirely possible pasting has triggered the bug.
