Steps:
1. Open Calc
2. Enter some numbers in column A
3. Select column A
4. Insert > Chart > Histogram > OK
5. Change values in range, or extend data range for chart to include more numbers, or reduce it...

Result: no change in the chart.
Workaround: recreate chart from scratch.
