Description cristobal78 2024-08-17 17:19:56 UTC
Description:

-------------------------------
In English in other words :

The "File > print" menu invites you to print "All Pages". That is the default option.

Now suppose you only want to print page 5 (for example) of a 100 page document but you do not pay enough attention and you click "Print" by accident then your printer is gone for a 100 page job !
Very Annoying.
All you can do to stop the job is to open a terminal and type : cancel -a

Suggestion
My opinion is that the default option should be "Page" and NOT "All pages".

Does my request for a change of this kind look ridiculous ?

Steps to Reproduce:
1.file
2.print
3.pages

Actual Results:
risk of having to brutally stop the printer

Expected Results:
no risk

Reproducible: Always

Given that there is no other software (that I know) that defaults to anything other than "all pages", I expect that with this "no risk" change, *millions* of users will print *millions* of single-page jobs instead of the wanted full print; or, if the print would be blocked, those millions of users would be confused when they expect to just push OK, spending much time understanding the problem (and hate those who implemented this).

IMO => WONTFIX.
