Description Robbie 2024-08-18 12:40:49 UTC
Description:
I've been trying to open the timetables published by Korail and quite a lot of them fail to open unless the file is opened in Safe Mode.

The timetables can be found here: https://www.letskorail.com/ebizcom/cs/guide/guide/guide11.do

In particular, the ones that always result in the application freezing/crashing are the KTX (high speed train) ones. Depending on your OS and browser, you may need to rename the files to have a *.xlsx extension.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download the timetables from the Korean national railway website in the description. You may need to add a file extension as the server sends files without an extension for some reason.
2. Attempt to open with LibreOffice Calc.
3. Program hangs as it tries to open the files if not opened with Safe Mode.

Actual Results:
Application is extremely slow, lagging and freezing so frequently that GNOME displays the application not responding dialog box. Changing GNOME settings so that the dialog box takes longer to display doesn't solve the issue either.

If Safe Mode is used, the files open without any problems, but saving them as ODF spreadsheets doesn't fix the problem. I was able to copy the tables into a new document and that worked, but this didn't solve the original problem.

Expected Results:
The files should open without issue, as they appear to be valid XLSX documents, but I have no way to check this for sure.

Reproducible: Always
