Description Donald H Palmer 2024-08-18 19:54:54 UTC
Description:
After opening a Math document and using "Format" clicking on Power, even though the cursor was on the third line in text panel, Power element was inserted at the beginning and curly brackets were placed in the text panel.

Just clicking the "new line" element in new document curly brackets were placed in the text panel.

Have not tried other elements but suspect they do not work correctly as well. All other modules work as expected. Version info below

Version: 24.2.5.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: bffef4ea93e59bebbeaf7f431bb02b1a39ee8a59
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 6.8; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open new Math document with text editor panel.
2.Click newline element in Format, curly brackets inserted instead of "newline".
3.Opening a existing Math document, inserting newline results in many curly brackets inserted in whole document.

Actual Results:
curly brackets inserted instead of "newline" and new element like Power is inserted at beginning of document.

Expected Results:
"newline" inserted Power element inserted at cursor position

Reproducible: Always

When you have Math module open, then go to Tools > Options > Math > Settings. In section "Miscellaneous Options" uncheck the option "Enable visual editing".

Find a list of known problems with visual editor in META bug 160150.

This is duplicate to bug 162390 and bug 161649.
