Description Joshua Ali 2024-08-23 09:17:36 UTC
Description:
This happens with Libre Office Draw and Impress (24.2), likely other modules as well. In order to reproduce this bug, one may create two shapes with no lines and snap them together. One can see from the "position and size" option that there should be no empty space between them. For example, there are 2 square (both 20x20 mm) and their X coordinates vary by exactly 20.00 mm. However, one can see a thin line both in LibreOffice modules as well as in the exported pdf that the objects did not snap together properly. There seems to be a 1 pixel thin line between them.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create two shapes (of the same color for better visibility)
2. Snap them together.

Actual Results:
Depending on the screen resolution, zoom in and out to see the 1 pixel thin line between them. It may be visible all the time or it may appear and disappear in different zoom levels. One can also see the thin gap if one attempts to export the file as a vector graphics format.

Expected Results:
If two 20.00x20.00mm (just an example measurement, any other measurement is fine) squares are snapped side-by-side and their X coordinates differ by exactly 20.00 mm, irregardless of the zoom level, there should be no pixel thin gap betwen them, neither in any LibreOffice module, nor in exported PDFs.

Reproducible: Always

Demonstration of the bug

Zoom in and out of the 4 red snapped squares to see the thin line separating the 4 squares. The file has the original.odg file attached from which the pdf file was exported.

Please attach .odg file.
Comment 3 Joshua Ali 2024-08-28 10:13:47 UTC
The .odg file is attached with the .pdf

No, the odg file is still missing.

Recreation of the bug, as an .odg file

I meant that the .odg file was inside the .pdf as an attachment (as it was a hybrid pdf, which contains the editable version of the ODF file inside it). In any case, I uploaded it manually again.

I have tried this with the following version as well:

Version: 24.8.2.1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 0f794b6e29741098670a3b95d60478a65d05ef13
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.8; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: de-DE (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-GB
Flatpak

The problem still persists.
