Description alexandre bustico 2024-08-23 09:59:23 UTC
I have some impress documents (I have attached one) that I have edited with libreoffice 7.3. Theses documents make libreoffice 24.2 and 24.8 to stuck my computer after allocating 48Gb (computer is fitted with 32Gb ram).

eventually, soffice.bin i killed by linux OOM killer, and after some minutes, computer is usable again.

I can revert to using libreoffice 7.3 to edit my documents.

I have tried to start in recovery mode, but the problem is the same.

platform is ubuntu 22.4 with all updates, french locales.

To be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and re-test?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present

I have renamed ~/.config/libreoffice and started libreoffice without user profile and the problem remains the same.

I also tried under windows, and there is no problem, seems linux specific.

I have update the computer from ubuntu 22.04 to 24.04:

° ubuntu packaged libreoffice (version 24.2.5-0ubuntu0.24.04.2) works without problem.
° libreoffice official release 2024.8 still crashes
