Hi, I made several tests, including from a computer installed from scratch, with ubuntu 24.2, to avoid issue with my computer (under linux) or another computer (under windows 10)n the results are identicals: - using Libreoffice 24.8 or 24.2.5, the file starts loading but stops in the middle of the progression bar, popup displayed with 'force quit' or 'wait' I wait at least ten times .. with no success - using Libreoffice 7.6.7.2, the file loads I cannot share the xslx file as there are personnals data.
Please attach a sample file, reduce the size as much as possible without private information, and paste the information in Menu/Help/About LibreOffice, there is a copy icon.
Ok Thank you First the copy/paste as asked: Version: 24.2.5.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: d6e8b0f3fc6e8af2b00cf4969fd0d2fa45b9a62e CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 6.8; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); UI: fr-FR Calc: threaded I am currently working on the xlsx file to anonymize it. Give me some time. FYI, I asked the person to save the file xlsx as an ODS file. I then tried to load it with libreoffice 24.2.5.2, it works.

Created attachment 196794 [details] Spreadsheet with two tabs I believe I have the same problem and this file I don't need to add anonymous data. If you choose to save this file (it's currently an ods) as XSLX then it crashes Calc. It 100% repeatable. Please take a look.

Takes a lot of time to save, several minutes, but no crash. Opening takes less than a minute, but no crash. Version: 24.8.2.1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 0f794b6e29741098670a3b95d60478a65d05ef13 CPU threads: 16; OS: Windows 11 X86_64 (10.0 build 22631); UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: es-ES (es_ES); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded
Does seem very inefficient, to save it in ODS format is instantaneous. Can the inefficiency be detected?
I cannot confirm it as NEW because the title does not match the behavior I find. A performance analysis would be necessary to detect where the slowness is being caused.
To help, I found it a little random. However it would always be when trying to save. Although I can imagine it is also loading too. I originally started with a XSLX file and that failed just trying to save some extra rows (before I added the image on sheet 2). I then moved to an ODS and that failed "saving as", when I mean fail it didn't save within a reasonable amount of time. Eventually it did work, but again it seemed random. I get the feeling it's a timing issue where it is waiting for something be searched on the disk and it missed the thread notification. Only some thoughts and I might be barking up a different tree.
