Please test in safe mode, Menu/Help/Restart in Safe Mode If it doesn't, please attach a sample file, reduce the size as much as possible without private information, and paste the information in Menu/Help/About LibreOffice, there is a copy icon.
Menu/Help/Restart in Safe Mode makes no difference. But there is a simple work-around: Menu/File/New/Text document Create the bookmark with its text in this empty new file. Cut & Paste into the large document with thousands of pre-existing bookmarks. Works fine ! I can't understand what the computer is doing during these 80 seconds. It is not even working very hard - 7.2% To create the list of bookmarks that appears in the Bookmark pop-up menu was no big issue in the previous version I had, took a second or two. It seems that the delay is proportional to the number of bookmarks.
Please, a sample file with the issue is relevant.
Created attachment 196275 [details] Sample I enclose a cleaned-up sample. Original file was 2 500 000 characters. Now execution time is 50 seconds.
Ok, I can see the strange effect on the screen. Seems while it's preparing the dialog for bookmark edition, happens the same trying to edit one of them.
