Description: Hi, Some users are asking to be able to see in LibreOffice the : - the name of the font file installed and used - the font version I suggest adding this information to the character format dialogue box. Currently LibreOffice displays the font installed or not in a little help balloon in the font selector, which is not very practical because you have to move the mouse cursor over the name of the font to see it. See attached document character-font.png i suggest to add these informations in character format dialogue Actual Results: . Expected Results: . In yellow the wanted content.
Don't see too much demand to carve out space on the Character dialog directly, which would be very cluttered when CJK and CTL fonts are also in use. Instead perhaps a mouse over tooltip behavior on the Fontlist combobox showing path to font source, and used for all instances of the combobox--i.e. Standard TB, Character... dialog, Sidebar Properties deck, and the MUFFIN Notebookbar modes. Would be similar to the path as done for documents on the Start Center.
(In reply to Regis Perdreau from comment #0) > Some users are asking to be able to see in LibreOffice the : > - the name of the font file installed and used > - the font version What is the purpose of this information? Fonts are typically not located in the user space, neither the version info is of relevance for text processing. In general I argue to keep the font maintaining functions at the dedicated tools and to not make LibreOffice a swiss-army knife. Ultimately a duplicate of bug 152487 (and WF IMO) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 152487 ***
Hi, As other tickets ask, we suffer from a lack of information about what LibreOffice actually supports. Some fonts may be inconsistent or not presented as third-party tools do.
