Description: Mostly, instinctively, people look for the update button in the Help Menu, and in many applications, this button is located in the "About" dialog box. While the former is accessible by default, using the Omnibox interface makes accessing this option a bit more cumbersome. Adding this dialog or even a dedicated button in the ribbon would improve accessibility. However, my suggestion is to add a button in the dialog box itself. Steps to Reproduce: Now, with omnibox interface. 1. Activate Menú toolbox. 2. Help menú 3. Updates. OR 1. Clic on Tools tab. 2. Clic on Options button. 3. Clic on Online Updates opction on Options dialog. 4. Clic on Check now. Actual Results: Too many steps to access. Expected Results: 1. Clic on File tab. 2. Clic on Help Menú. 3. Clic on About. 4. Clic on the new button Update now. OR 1. Clic on File tab. 2. Clic on Update now button. AND/OR 1. Clic on Tool tab. 2. Clic on Update now button. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Adding a button for quick access to updates reduces the number of clicks.

No IMHO, the check for updates is fine on the Help menu as is. Especially when the MAR autoupdater is fully functional. Moving it down into the Help -> About is not really needed as the About is not how we reach program Settings otherwise. -1
Moving the "Check For Updates" interaction into the About dialog is not the usual way to go. Typically you just get the information, and bug 153153 requests better feedback, at least. Let's continue the discussion there. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 153153 ***
