When I add the "Line Thickess" command to a toolbar, I expect to see a menubutton, with a few common optional thicknesses, and hopefully also some way to open the full-fledged Line... properties dialog. Instead, I get a super-wide [ 0.00 cm |-|+] box, taking the space of four toolbar buttons. IMNSHO, that's not good.

Created attachment 196870 [details] Shot of the line color widget when open, LO 24.8 The small and unassuming line color widget expands into a wealth of selectable items. And still, when closed it's quite compact.
The sidebar has controls for style, thickness, and color. Don't think it's worth the effort to create more controls without a good use case.
(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #3) > The sidebar has controls for style, thickness, and color. If I were relying on the sidebar, I wouldn't be adding this control to a toolbar. > Don't think it's > worth the effort to create more controls without a good use case. The control already exists. Given that it does, it should be more reasonable. A spinner control is not what I believe users would expect for line thickness. And the mini-dialog already exists - it can be adapted from the sidebar line width control; so not that much coding effort.
Don't know why this needs UX input then. If you believe it's an easyhack please add code pointer (or involve the dev mentor).
