Description Eyal Rozenberg 2024-10-04 16:33:24 UTC
Reproduction instructions:

1. Create new Spreadsheet in Calc
2. Enter some data (e.g. 1,2\n3,4)
3. Create a chart from your data
4. Deselect the chart
5. On the menu, Open the Edit > OLE Object submenu

Actual Results:
The OLE Object submenu is active, and has an "Edit" menu item; if you choose it, nothing happens.

Expected result:
Action (5.) should be impossible - the "OLE Object" submenu should be grayed-out when there is no OLE object selected, to manipulate.

I was able to reproduce this in my version. The edit button has not purpose, should be a minor fix to grey it out.

Version: 24.8.2.1 - Windows OS

This is only seen with gtk3 UI. Testing with bibisect repos, it looks like the change was due to the switch to native gtk3 menubar as mentioned in: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/5.2#GUI

I am not seeing this on Windows, though.
