Description Francesco 2024-10-07 09:24:02 UTC
Description:
When writing a text, more often when editing an existing text, the entire text in row flickers like when you're writing something in justified mode and Writer constantly alignes it, but with a flickering behavior.
Furthermore, when I try to select a different style in Style Navigator, both with arrow keys or mouse scrolling, and selecting "All styles", the entire list flickers in a way that doesn't allow me to select the right style, and the list restarts from the top. I'm going to describe the obly style selecting behavior.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. In style navigator, selecting "All styles";
2. Scrolling up or down, with mouse scrolling or arrow keys, for selecting a style;
3. The list flickers and doesn't allow to select the right style, then returns to the style already selected.

Actual Results:
Selecting another style is impossible.

Expected Results:
Correctly select a style

Reproducible: Always

Hi, Francesco, meanwhile 3 versions of LibreOffice were released: 24.8.2, 24.8.3 and 24.8.4, so a lot of bugs have been solved (at least 300).

I propose you 2 solutions:
- install 24.8.4 from the official website
- after that, open LibreOffice, go to Help - restart in safe mode, and choose factory settings. You will have a fresh version with a fresh profile.

After that, please come back here on this website with some feedback about your bug, after you retest this.

I will mark the bug with the status Needinfo, after you came back with some feedback, you can change the status to Unconfirmed.

Thanks

Hi BogdanB, I had already updated to 24.8.3.2 passing through intermediate versions and waited for the issue coming, but it seems that everything is okay now. Maybe something not easily identifiable that was damaged, has been fixed by updates.
I waited to update this thread because I preferred to test it as much as possible before giving a final opinion.

I did nothing but install the updates, without any other tweaks like restarting into safe mode and refreshing the profile.

Thanks for everything.
