Description: I can reproduce this problem in other programs such as Brave Browser as well. I am not sure if your team will be able to fix this problem then as it may be a system issue. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create new text document in LibreOffice and have it focused 2. Enter Spotlight Search 3. Press Ctrl + CMD + Space to bring up emoji menu and click on any to enter it into Spotlight Search 4. Click back in or type into your LibreOffice Writer window and you will find you cannot type or click your text cursor anywhere until focusing on another window (Doesn't have to be LibreOffice window) Actual Results: Error sound when trying to type or click around anywhere within LibreOffice Writer. The issue seems to resolve itself after focusing on any other window within the OS Expected Results: Business as usual so I can continue on typing Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 24.8.2.1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 0f794b6e29741098670a3b95d60478a65d05ef13 CPU threads: 4; OS: macOS 13.7; UI render: Skia/Metal; VCL: osx Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
I cannot reproduce this bug: Version: 24.8.2.1 (AARCH64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 0f794b6e29741098670a3b95d60478a65d05ef13 CPU threads: 8; OS: macOS 15.1; UI render: Skia/Metal; VCL: osx Locale: en-CA (en_CA.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded The only differences I see in our Help > About output is that you are running macOS Monterey on Intel and I am running macOS Sequoia on Silicon Mac. Interestingly, on macOS Sequoia using either Safari or LibreOffice, the Spotlight Search window disappears if you click in the Character Viewer window so I cannot insert any emojis in the Spotlight Search window. So, it appears that Apple changed something between macOS Monterey and Sequoia.
I was able to reproduce this bug. This may be a system issue but will note as NEW status. Version: 24.8.2.1 (AARCH64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 0f794b6e29741098670a3b95d60478a65d05ef13 CPU threads: 8; OS: macOS 14.5; UI render: Skia/Metal; VCL: osx Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
(In reply to Aryeh from comment #2) > I was able to reproduce this bug. This may be a system issue but will note > as NEW status. I rebooted into macOS Sonoma 14.7.1 on my Silicon Mac and I was able to reproduce this bug in both LibreOffice and Apple's TextEdit application. Once the bug occurs, you must quit and relaunch the affected application. Since TextEdit is also has this same bug, I would conclude that this is a macOS bug on macOS Sonoma so marking this bug as "not our bug". Apple's appears to have fixed the bug in macOS Sequoia but for some reason they have not yet fixed this in macOS Sonoma.
