Description enhua_2008 2024-11-02 08:06:40 UTC
Description:
After macOS 15, the Apple font has been adjusted, and the Apple font cannot be found in /Library/Fonts and /System/Library/Fonts. Some people have reported that Microsoft office365, onenote, GIMP, etc. can't find the Apple font, which is not only a problem of LO, I don't know if it is Apple's bug or a permanent adjustment. Does LO need to adjust the font strategy?

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open the LO with Chinese UI
2.The UI is garbled
3.And the document contents is garbled also, if change the font to e.g. "Noto San SC", it will be displayed normally.

Actual Results:
The UI and the document contents is garbled.

Expected Results:
Displays the normal Chinese interface and document content

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
I have tried to change the UI language to English, and then change to Chinese again, the problem was not solved.

This might be a duplicate of tdf#163000. The fix for that bug is in LibreOffice 24.2.7 which was released a few days ago. The fix should also be included in the upcoming LibreOffice 24.8.3 release.

You listed LibreOffice 24.2.6.2 as this bug's version. Do you see any change if you upgrade to LibreOffice 24.2.7?

Thank you for your reply. I try to upgrade to LibreOffice 24.2.7, and then the UI looks good. But, when I create a new document or open a file in the list on the right screen, including writer, calc, draw, and impress, the document recovery window pops up, prompting "LO has an error, it has crashed", click OK and select Restore or Abandon it, and the pop-up window will be closed. Then create a new file or open it again, and the same prompt will be given. The problem of restarting LO is still the same.

Hi, I tried 24.2.7 and it always crashes, but I downloaded the latest code build Version: 25.2.0.0.alpha0+ (AARCH64) and it's normal at the moment.

The crashes are likely a separate issue, unrelated to Chinese font, as discussed on the developers mailing list:

Sorry I forgot to post about that. Found out about the broken Silicon Mac LibreOffice 24.2.7.2 installer after I last posted to this bug.

Hopefully we'll figure what is breaking the Silicon Mac LibreOffice 24.2.7.2 installer and get a new installer out soon.

Since you confirmed that you no longer see this bug in the master build, I am marking this bug as a duplicate of tdf#163000.
