The Poppins Medium font also takes on a differing appearance between PowerPoint and Impress. The spacing itself can be increased to match PPT by adjusting width in Impress (Format -> Bullets and Numbering), or can be shrunk in PPT by adjusting the hanging indent (Paragraph Settings -> Hanging). However, this adjustment would still leave inconsistent spacing and font appearance between PPT and Impress.
Believe this to be a formatting difference / issue from original build. Tested version 5.3.0 (could not get 4.3 or earlier to run at this time -- issue not related to this bug) with SHA 4136757b4e51c4e6f7cb4132c95538a7f831ef2c
