Description Radish 2024-11-22 17:56:17 UTC
Description:
As per the 'Summary' title.

Steps to Reproduce:
Please see this forum thread for full details: https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?t=112168 There are screenshots shown there that show the issue and the 'fix' which is to disable Skia

Actual Results:
With Skia enabled the Autoinput suggestions are 'masked'

Expected Results:
I would expect Calc to be functioning correctly without having to disable Skia.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
I also tried this with LibreOffice Portable 24.8.3.2 x86 from PortableApps and get the same 'masked' results with Skia enabled.

This is happening on the Windows 11 Pro. 23H2 (build 22631.4460) system. Previously I was using Windows 10 Pro. x64 and did not have this issue in that.

I don't know if this is relevant but I just tried "About LibreOffice" for LibreOffice 24.2.7.2 and get this information.

Version: 24.2.7.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: ee3885777aa7032db5a9b65deec9457448a91162
CPU threads: 28; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22631; UI render: default; VCL: win
Locale: en-GB (en_GB); UI: en-GB
Calc: threaded

This is wrong. Winver says that the system is: "Windows 11 version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.4460". So, for whatever reason, LibreOffice v24.2.7.2 is incorrectly identifying the operating system.

I also tried "About LibreOffice" with LibreOffice 24.8.3.2 portable (PortableApps) and it seems to identify the operating system correctly as follows:

Version: 24.8.3.2 (x86) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 48a6bac9e7e268aeb4c3483fcf825c94556d9f92
CPU threads: 28; OS: Windows 11 X86_64 (10.0 build 22631); UI render: default; VCL: win
Locale: en-GB (en_GB); UI: en-GB
Calc: threaded

I don't know if this is relevant to the bug I'm reporting but put the information here in case it is of help.

LibreOffice gets the information from the system, and as you can see the build is correct, that is the most accurate value.

And if Skia doesn't work fine, maybe you need to update the graphics driver, not but Windows update, which should be updated, but from the vendor directly.

Sorry, I don't get this. Winver displays what I would expect to be correct information on the Windows version.

Likewise, CPU-Z gives the following information on the system (and it is correct):

Software
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Windows Version	Microsoft Windows 11 Professional (x64), Version 23H2, Build 22631.4460
Windows Installation Date	11/5/2024
DirectX Version 12.0

Thank you for mentioning a possible Graphics Driver issue. At the motherboard website I found an updated Graphics Driver, installed it, and Skia is working fine now with LibreOffice. Should say that this is a brand new PC, which I am still testing out, but the builders in their delivery technical notices said that they installed all the latest drivers for the system; this now turns out to be false information. And, according to the Asus website, I have several other drivers I need to install. In any case, many thanks for your advice. :0)

However, to help me try and solve the conundrum over how LibreOffice is getting incorrect information for my install of Windows 11 Pro. could you please tell me *where* LibreOffice actually gets that information on the system from? I don't think I'll manage to puzzle that out myself.

Sorry, I'm not a developer.

This is the bug where it was solved.

Thank you for the link to report explicitly dealing with Windows versions. I am relieved to see that other people have the same problem too. I just thought it was my own new PC that was the problem, now I'll sleep a bit easier.
