hi, To make it short: we should have a window-tab in the OPTIONS menu where we could decide where we want tooltips and where we don't. For example, in the styles pane (VIEW / Styles (or f11) The tooltips are super-annoying. But simply turning them off wouldn't be good for all situations. Recent files. How great it would be to see tooltips with the path of the file... like "this_document" and the tooltip: "home/username/directory" I mean, sometimes tooltips are great, sometimes they are annoying. This is why we should be able to set it in the OPTIONS menu at "OPTIONS / Libreoffice Writer" - - - thank you for developing Libreoffice and Writer ! - - -
For me this is not necessary, but let'S decide design-team
We provide the Tools -> Options -> General checkbox to select between defined 'Tooltips' and 'Extended tips' So some potential that a *global* 'Show no tooltips' might possible to implement. But not by default (as tooltips remain required for accessibility navigation). Beyond that don't think it worth effort to try to implement scheme to selectively show/hide tooltips by UI element or LO module. Note: on Windows builds at least, we already provide the full path to document on the 'Recent Documents' menu list, as well on the Start Center for each thumbnail.

I also struggle to see a benefit in this micromanagement beyond extended tooltips on/off.
