Description Robert Forsyth 2024-11-25 15:34:47 UTC
Description:
LibreOffice Calc auto fill suggestion box only works for one sheet. I feel it should auto fill all sheets in the document. I would like to use this for for accounts where a month is on its own sheet and I have awkward company names I have to type multiple times like "Shenzhenshigeduowangluokejiyouxiangongsi"

Steps to Reproduce:
1.create sheet
2.type something in a cell
3.type same thing in cell, auto fill should appear.
4.create another sheet.
5. type same thing into cell. .

Actual Results:
Auto fill doesn't work

Expected Results:
The software should Auto fill across sheets. It's more logical than how it works at the moment.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I am on a older version, I doubt this has been fixed on newer versions.

I was able to reproduce this. Although I am not sure if this is a bug or design feature, so I won't change the status yet.

Have you tried selecting both sheets with [Ctrl+click]

I think it is designed that way. Office 365 excel has the same behavior.

Autofill uses data from cell above on the same sheet. It isn't a bug at all. But possibly it can be discussed by UX-team?

Works perfectly => WF (actually invalid as the function exists)

Please also consider users who not want to run a feature somewhere else not clearly visible.

Heiko, Miguel, I don't think Robert wanted to enter some data to all sheets at once. I think the idea here to have Autofill feature that uses data from sheet1 on sheet2and others

For example:
Sheet1 contains in A column:

AAA
BBB
CCC

And where you start enter something in A1 cell on empty Sheet2, for example started by B letter, then Autofill should offer BBB using data from Sheet1.

There is no blocker to use =$Sheet1.A1. But okay, let's hear Robert => NEEDINFO
