The Pivot Table layout dialog on a new pivot table does not show entries in the Data field. Therefore no calculation is performed and no choice of function is possible. See image attached. Steps 1) get data for a pivot table 2) Insert > Pivot Table 3) choose selection 4) PT layout dialog opens Actual results: Dialog does no show operations in Data Fields box Expected results: Show at least one operations.
Note: When opening an existing PT for edition, the existing Data fields operations are present. If you rebuild the PT from scratch, the Data Fields ops are inaccessible.
I'm not sure I understand, but if I drag from Available Fields to Data Fields, I get the listing like "Sum - Fieldname" and by double-clicking I can change the function. Can you explain a bit more what you mean? Note that there is a catch, you can't use a column named Data before this bug is fixed: bug 154197. Were you by any chance using such a name?
