So, I just opened a Calc document, and magically - the sidebar, and the sidebar deck selector, were detached, in a non-model window of their own, on top of the middle of my Calc window. Huh? ... I definitely did not do this in previous sessions. I don't understand how this happens :-(

Have you tried the "hamburger menu" (the icon with three horizontal lines at the top-right of your detached sidebar window) and the "Dock" entry?

The most likely reason is that you accidentally triggered the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+F10 by default).

Yes, and that works.

I am 100% certain I did not press anything like that; plus, the undocked state was what I got when starting the app - without pressing any keys. I just double-clicked a Calc document.
