Unable to Insert Comment on Selected Text or Object in Impress on macOS Steps to Reproduce: Open LibreOffice Impress on macOS. Create or open a presentation. Select any text or object on a slide. Attempt to insert a comment by: Going to Insert > Comment. Current Behavior: No comment box appears, and no action occurs after selecting the comment option. Expected Behavior: A comment box should appear next to the selected text or object, allowing the user to input comments.
I cannot reproduce this in either of the following. Can you copy the Version Information from the LibreOffice > About menu item?: Version: 24.8.4.2 (AARCH64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: bb3cfa12c7b1bf994ecc5649a80400d06cd71002 CPU threads: 8; OS: macOS 15.2; UI render: Skia/Metal; VCL: osx Locale: en-CA (en_CA.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Version: 24.2.5.2 (AARCH64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: bffef4ea93e59bebbeaf7f431bb02b1a39ee8a59 CPU threads: 8; OS: macOS 15.2; UI render: Skia/Metal; VCL: osx Locale: en-CA (en_CA.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
Seems like a duplicate of https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=164529 Patrick, on Linux, at least, when a comment is inserted a small square is showing that a comment is on that slide, BUT, the window to insert the text is not focused. We need to click the square in order to write something. Can you test this. I bibisected to a 25.2 commit, so, can not be reproduced on 24.8.

I see the small yellow square inserted at the top of the slide and the comment window automatically opens only in LIbreOffice 24.8.4.2 (see version info below). In my local master build, the small yellow square is added but I have to actually click on it to open the yellow square. For me, in all versions cases something *does* happen when selecting the Insert > Comment menu item or press the Command-Option-C keys: Version: 24.8.4.2 (AARCH64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: bb3cfa12c7b1bf994ecc5649a80400d06cd71002 CPU threads: 8; OS: macOS 15.2; UI render: Skia/Metal; VCL: osx Locale: en-CA (en_CA.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
Anna, please answer to comment 1.
I noticed we didn't have 25.8 in Bugzilla versions, so I added it now. In any case, Anna, please be more careful when reporting the version and always include the full version information from LibreOffice - About on macOS by clicking the copy button and pasting to the description field.
