Description goyo 2025-01-03 03:03:17 UTC
Description:
This problem started with LO v24.8.3.2 so I updated to 24.8.4.2 and still cannot double-click in Windows 11 file explorer nor right-click and open-with. When I drag-drop into the open app a dialogue returned says, "Read Error. Data could not be read from the file." The icons Windows Explorer files all changed so they have a tag on the icon that looks like a yellow folder. I created a test document and it does not have the tag on the icon and opens when I dbl-click or drag-drop it into the app. I will try to use a previous version to see if that helps.

Actual Results:
I open Win 11 File Explorer, double-click ANY ODT or TXT file and nothing happens. Not even an error textbox. Same with "Window > Open-With". So far only exception is the test file I just created.

Expected Results:
Open my files for editing.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
I backed up and deleted my user profile and started LO again. No good. Same error response.
Note: I have an ODS file I use once a week and it has no "tag" on it and opens by dbl-clicking.

ODT I created with sample icon and yellow file folder tag added to icon

I used Win 11 Snippet app to copy a sample icon so you can see what I am calling a tag.

Have you checked the properties of any of these files?
Comment 3 raal 2025-01-25 06:42:11 UTC
Please check if the file is on One drive and you have access to oneDrive: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/does-anyone-know-what-is-happening-with-the-yellow/b2593b69-b24b-4e2b-af11-bfc272154dde

Also check file properties as suggested in comment 2.

Probably not a LO's issue.
